LOGAN CITY ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF 311 NUMBER FOR NON-EMERGENCY CALLS
In 1996, the Federal Communications Commission dedicated the telephone number “311” for use by governmental entities. Currently, hundreds of cities across the United States use 311 as the primary number that citizens dial to call the city.
Citizens calling Logan City with non-emergency questions or concerns can now reach the City’s main switchboard by dialing 311 during normal business hours. The service is available from phones using Century Link, Comcast, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, or AT&T as the service provider. Currently, the 311 number cannot be used from phones served by other carriers, but it is estimated that these six provide service to about 95% of all phones in Logan City.
It is important to note that all emergency calls should still be made by calling 911.
